Make the Vista Cursor Thicker

Vistas cursor can be very hard to see, especially on a laptop with a high-resolution screen. The following steps allow you to make the Vista cursor as fat as you like.

  1. Click on the Windows Button.
  2. Click on Control Panel at the right.
  3. Double-click on the blue Ease of Access icon.
  4. Click on Make the computer easier to see.
  5. Scroll down to Set the thickness of the blinking cursor.
  6. Click on the down arrow next to the number 1 and set the value to whatever suits you.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Close the Ease of Access window.
If you don't like the setting, you can always come back and change it. Note that this setting won't work inside of many programs, which set their own cursors. It will change the cursor on the start screen and any desktop windows (e.g. the Google search widget).
